MYKITA

MYKITA was founded in Berlin, Germany, by Moritz Krüger — the brand’s acting CEO and Creative Director — alongside co-founders Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, and Philipp Haffmans. The brand began with a shared aesthetic vision and a collection of original designs, but without an established means of production. In response, the founders developed an in-house manufacturing model, building their own tools and pioneering original production processes that combined specialised craftsmanship with adapted new technologies.

The original MYKITA headquarters were located within a former children’s daycare centre in Berlin. The name itself is derived from the German word Kita, a colloquial term for daycare, which endeared the original quartet to the space. Naming the company MYKITA became a way of honouring these humble beginnings, while also alluding to the sense of curiosity, experimentation, and play that would come to define the brand’s approach to design and production.

Today, MYKITA frames are crafted within MYKITA HAUS, a historic building in the heart of Berlin Kreuzberg. The modern manufactory brings together people from diverse cultural backgrounds and disciplines, each guiding the product through every stage of its development and production.
